Welcome

"Welcome, madam." That's what my nanny always says to me when I come back home. Or my cook when I come home after work.

It's been almost a year since I posted. Thought I'd start it back up. I'm now on a new cook and a new nanny. A new cook starts tomorrow. We lost the last one - he left on his own right at the same time we were about to fire him. He just couldn't learn -- why did I have to ask him to dust the same places every single week? Why did he disappear for half the day and not cook anything for two days? Why did I come back from the hospital just to yell at him all day? Anyway, new one starts tomorrow and I hope he works out. I didn't eat much this last week where we didn't have a cook. Also, coupled with the fact that I had typhoid, I've lost a lot of weight. Yea, I had typhoid. Sounds like a scary exotic disease, doesn't it? Well, it got me hospitalized b/c my white blood cell count was so high, plus I was having a bad reaction to Caraquine - which is a treatment for malaria which I didn't have.

We had a bit of a fuss trying to find good health care. Which is worrisome that there's no good health care here. And a friend of ours' father died due to complications from a car accident. Rest In Peace. And some young musician in a car accident. Anyway...

We also have a new nanny. This is the third. The last one was rude, lazy, and stole from us. She left on her own, too, right when we were about to fire her. Maylee gets along well with this one. But she tries to do too much - like cooking when we don't have a cook - and gets distracted sometimes.

What else? New learning - Yomi said only about 10% of the population uses toilet paper. Everyone uses water. But I don't understand what happens when there's no running water, or no soap?
